01 · Terms of Use

A practical agreement for using Planty.

By using A Life of Planty, creating an account, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Your account and records

You are responsible for accurate account information, a secure password, and activity under your account. Garden records, notes, photos, and other material you add remain yours. You give A Life of Planty permission to store, process, and display that material only as needed to operate the service.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with its operation, upload harmful or unlawful material, impersonate another person, scrape protected content, or use Planty to harm, harass, deceive, or exploit others.

Planty content

The A Life of Planty name, original writing, illustrations, layouts, printables, and software are protected content. Personal, noncommercial use of provided downloads is allowed unless a download states otherwise. Republishing, reselling, or removing attribution is not allowed without written permission.

Availability and changes

Features may change as the service improves. Reasonable care is taken to protect saved information, but uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed. Keep copies of irreplaceable garden records and photos.

Ending access

You may stop using Planty at any time. Access may be limited or ended for material violations, fraud, abuse, security risk, or unlawful conduct. These terms are governed by Texas law, without overriding consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.

02 · Privacy

Your garden is personal.

Planty collects only information needed to provide accounts, garden tools, subscriptions, support, security, and product improvement.

Information you provide

• Account details such as name and email address.
• Garden details such as zone, location search, beds, seeds, tasks, lessons, notes, harvests, and uploaded photos.
• Feedback, support requests, and choices you make during onboarding.
• Subscription status and billing identifiers. Full payment-card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by Planty.

Information created through use

The service records limited usage and reliability events—such as pages opened, features used, searches, errors, and approximate garden-region information—to understand what works and what needs attention. Device storage keeps guest gardens and preferences in the browser until you clear them.

How information is used and shared

Information is used to run and personalize Planty, sync private garden records, process subscriptions, answer support requests, prevent abuse, and improve the product. It is shared only with service providers needed for those purposes, such as Supabase for account services, Stripe for payments, cloud hosting providers, and Open-Meteo when you request local weather. Personal information is not sold.

Retention and choices

Account and garden information is kept while your account is active or as reasonably needed for operations, disputes, security, and legal obligations. You may delete your cloud garden from Account Settings and request further account or privacy help by emailing alifeofplanty@gmail.com.

Children

Planty includes family learning materials but is intended to be managed by an adult. It is not directed to children under 13 and should not be used by a child to create an independent account or submit personal information.

03 · Subscriptions

Clear renewal and cancellation terms.

Planty Plus is available as a monthly or yearly recurring subscription. The price, billing interval, and any introductory discount are shown before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.

You may manage or cancel a paid subscription from Account Settings. Cancel before the next renewal date to prevent the next charge. Unless otherwise stated, paid access continues through the end of the current billing period. Cancelling does not delete your garden records.

Free-plan allowances and paid-plan features may evolve, but changes will not be used to erase existing garden information solely because an allowance changed.

04 · Refund Policy

Billing problems will be reviewed fairly.

Subscription payments are generally nonrefundable once a billing period begins, including for partial use or an unused portion after cancellation. This does not limit rights that apply under law.

Duplicate charges, incorrect amounts, unauthorized charges, or a service failure that materially prevents use should be reported promptly to alifeofplanty@gmail.com. Include the account email and charge date, but never send a full card number. Each request will be reviewed individually.

05 · Gardening, Weather & AI

Useful guidance, not a guarantee.

Planting windows, frost dates, weather, pest guidance, plant identification, companion-planting suggestions, harvest timing, and AI-generated explanations are educational estimates. Conditions vary by microclimate, soil, cultivar, weather, and care.

Confirm important decisions with seed packets, product labels, local Extension resources, qualified professionals, and direct observation. Follow pesticide, fertilizer, food-preservation, and equipment labels exactly. Never eat or use a plant medicinally based only on an app identification. Planty does not provide medical, veterinary, legal, financial, or emergency advice.

06 · Community Standards

Curious, kind, and evidence-minded.

Community contributions and feedback should be respectful, relevant, and safe. Harassment, hate, threats, sexual exploitation, dangerous misinformation, spam, fraud, doxxing, and infringement are not allowed. Content may be removed and accounts limited when needed to protect people or the service.

07 · Affiliate Disclosure

Recommendations should stay honest.

Some future links may be affiliate links. If you purchase through one, A Life of Planty may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships will be clearly disclosed near relevant recommendations and do not guarantee a product result.

08 · Accessibility

Planty should be usable by more people.

The site aims for keyboard access, readable contrast, descriptive labels, responsive layouts, reduced-motion support, and clear language. If a barrier prevents you from using a feature, send the page, device, and problem through Feedback or email alifeofplanty@gmail.com.

09 · Security

Careful systems and responsible reporting.

Planty uses managed account, payment, database, and hosting services. No internet service can promise perfect security. Use a unique password, protect your email account, and sign out on shared devices. Report a suspected security problem privately by email; do not publicly disclose personal data or exploit a vulnerability.

10 · Your Data Choices

Keep it, move it, or remove it.

Guests may clear device-local Planty data through browser storage controls. Signed-in users may delete the cloud garden from Account Settings without deleting the browser copy. To request help with access, correction, deletion, or an account closure, email alifeofplanty@gmail.comfrom the account address.

Essential device storage supports sign-in, saved garden state, and preferences. Optional analytics are used to understand product health and improve the experience. Material policy changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
